Notable personalities in African Democratic Congress (ADC) met with the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yewa North Local Government area of Ogun state yesterday to formally defect to the ruling party.
The opposition party leaders led by the Chief Samuel Elegbede formally announced their defection to APC and their readiness to collaborate with the Dapo Abiodun led administration to bring about needed development in Yewa North Local government, Ogun West and the State at large.
Chief Elegbede who was a former Commissioner in the administration of Otunba Gbenga Daniel expressed the desire of the decampees to fused into APC so as to have a common front in the area. Chief Olu Agemo while welcoming them into APC expressed his happiness with the development urging everyone to be strong and united at all time.
The local government party Chairman, Elder S. M. A. Akinyemi while receiving the new members urged everyone to work together to achieve APC’s Next Level Agenda and support the administration of Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun MFR
In his own remark, the Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor on Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi (FCA) said the decision of the decampees and their followers is a welcome development noting that its long overdue. He reiterated the strong commitment of the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration to make life meaningful to all, citing the Governor’s promise to be fair, just and equitable.
The Special Adviser took time to reel out some of the State government’s laudable projects across the state which are work in progress and those captured for next implementation were brought to the attention of everyone at the meeting amidst cheers.
Other notable leaders of former ADC joining the moving train are Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako (former Commissioner of Health & Housing), Chief Bankole, Major Olubiyi, Prince Durojaiye (Uncle Joy), Chief Olanite, Pa Akinleye (Baba Elesemeji) Hon Oladodu, Hon Kayode Aderounmu and a host of others while leaders of APC in attendance include Hon. Tajudeen Amoo Pabida (Former YNLG Chairman), Hon. Gabriel Ogunyomi (former House Member) Hon. Falola, Hon. Sunday Kojeku (former Majority Leader), Chief Kunle Adeosun, APC local government party Executives and ward Chairmen among others.
