Barely a week now the rumours has spread all over the state that the present administration in Ogun State headed by His Excellency Prince Adedapo Abiodun planned to scrap LCDA'S in Ogun State due to inability to funds the councils areas in Ogun State.
As a strong supporter of Prince Adedapo Abiodun, an executive member of APC in ijebu Ode local government, a Youth Representative and an advocate for His Excellency Prince Adedapo Abiodun during the campaigns on general elections in March 2019 before he assumed office that i will never support such move by our amiable governor for many reasons.
I appreciate the governor for good efforts in sustaining the state in many areas of developments, but when there are issues that may caused problems for developments we should be able to speak out that is why we are in a democracy.
Scrapping of LCDA in Ogun State will take us back to the beginning rather than moving forward, if there are issues on funding the state government should be able to call the stakeholders meeting and address the issue, where do we go from here and solutions will be addressed rather than creating another problems for youths.
From the history the LCDA created by the former governor of Ogun State then Aremo Olusegun Osoba after some months when he lost his second time ambition the incumbent governor then Otunba Gbenga Daniel cancelled it. After many years of promised by the former governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun created another LCDA promised to be fully funded.
From observations the government of Ibikunle Amosun didn't fund the LCDA properly as he promised but many opportunities and development for communities in terms of power sharing, empowering the youths to hold offices in there LCDA'S like our people became chairman, Vice-chairman, Secretary to the Local Government, councillors etc. The government officials were promoted to the levels like HOLGA, DGSA, Directors etc.
The level of development spread despite the inability to funds the LCDA, many dilapidated buildings were rehabilitated for offices to be used, many abandoned communities were happy for government presence and many more of these great developments within the state.
Your Excellency sir, many of our leaders may behave they like your decision on this but it's totally different in there minds. Even Governor Rotimi Makinde of Oyo state happens to be an opposition to our Great Party has never make such move talk less of we progressive party.
I now advise the governor to have a deep taught on this decision in order to reversed on it for better development for the good people of Ogun State and APC Youths in general. The youths should be able to speak out for whatever they think will affect them at any levels. I call on the authorities to please have a rethink about this.
I dare whoever may want me in a debate on this matter, development is our priority not backwardness, I remains the youth representative on any matters that we promote the youths and not the decisions that will generate problems for youths.
