The Tor Tiv, His Royal Majesty Prof James Ayatse has claimed that the killings of Benue indigenes in the New Year assaults were indications of genocide.
The Tor Tiv said this on Thursday in Makurdi amid the memorial mass for the mass internment of 73 individuals killed by herders on January 1 in Guma and Logo neighborhood government chambers.
He said the tenacious assaults on Benue people group were troubling, particularly since the national government neglected to counteract re-event.
The ruler deplored that the herders have assaulted Benue 47 times in five years, assaults, he said were similar to a motivation of genocide.
"I, subsequently, approach the Federal Government to act quickly by putting a conclusion to this killings; this demonstration of exemption must stop."
He urged Gov Samuel Ortom to stand firm in his make plans to actualize the counter open brushing law.
The foremost ruler called for supplications for the dead and appealed to the media to keep on reporting the savagery that had happened to the state.
