The Anambra Governorship Elections Tribunal sitting in Awka on Friday closed pre-hearing on the issue brought by Dr Paul Obianaso of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Obianaso was trying to upturn the election of Gov. Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance. Boss Willie Obiano He supplicated the tribunal to invalidate the Nov. 18 governorship election in Anambra for non-considerable consistence to the Electoral Act.
Answers to pre-trial sees were received and the tribunal gave the booking request. The candidate, Obianaso, who was in court, was spoken to by Theophilus Nweke, while K. O. Mozie, showed up for the primary respondent, Gov. Willie Obiano. In his decision, Justice H.A. Olusiyi, Chairman of the Tribunal, said that the tribunal was fulfilled that there was no other method to determine the issue than an out and out trial. Olusiyi said there would be assisted knowing about the issue and that the tribunal would not suit pointless applications for dismissal, as the time was short. He deferred hearing on the issue till April 17.
