Late Dr. Adepoju |
An Islamic cooperative organisation to help muslims adherently do away with paying and receipt of interest was established by him together with a couple of progressive like-minds. The leadership of the organisation fell on his shoulders, and as a scholar of Islamic economics - where he bagged his doctorate - the ship of the organisation was commendably piloted for more than a decade. Within this significant period, thousands of muslims have immensely, immeasurably benefitted from the goodies birthed by the laudable relief activities of the timely organisation.
The baton of leadership of the Al-Hayat Relief Foundation was exchanged on Sunday the 1st of April, 2018 - just yesterday - in Ijebu-ode, Ogun State. He thereafter graced an occasion in Lagos the same day where he was said to have been taken to a nearby hospital after a slight feel of uncomfortability. As the unquestionable Taker of souls had unchangeably destined, Dr Abdur-Razaq Idowu Adepoju, an Associate Professor and Chief Imam of the Nigeria's premier education university, TASUED, never came out alive. He bade us a no-return farewell. He gave up the ghost dismayingly!
Students who had passed through him would forever remember him for his classroom astuteness and humbleness without borders. He was a pedagogue, a methodist, a strategist, a master planner, a technocrat, an orator etcetera.
Dr Adepoju's Jumu'ah sermon was indescribably fabulous. Congregants were always at the peak of their concentration, as his presentation was always refreshingly educating. It was usually a no-dull-moment encounter.
Yaa Allah! Forgive our teacher his shortcomings; make his life in the grave pleasurable; grant him Jannatul Firdaus; and give his family members the fortitude to bear the loss. Aameeeen!!!
